Whose Computer Is It Anyway?

Last night, I was in the middle of writing a long post about the boys' new scratching post when all of a sudden my computer shut down. How did it happen? Arthur batted at the on/off switch and turned it off. I lost all my work, unfortunately.

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking that he just happened to step on the power strip switch. Nope. He pressed the power button -- a small, springy button on the front of the computer. He had to hit just the right spot to get it.

Mouse does that to me all the time--steps on the on/off switch of the surge protector. And yes, it always happens when I'm right in the middle of something important, never when I'm just up late surfing and wasting time.

It wasn't stepping on the surge protector. That's the funny part. THe button is a spring-operated button on the front of the computer. He had to paw it at just the right spot to make it happen.

Can Arthur come over and teach me how to turn off the computer using that button? LOL! Whenever my computer freezes up, the only way I can turn it off is by the power strip...pushing that button does nothing! And it's a new computer too!

Note to Anonymous (above): Re your new computer... you might try turning it off with the front-button, only HOLDING the button DOWN for about 5 seconds. This happened with mine, too. I think there's some kind of safety built in so that children, etc (and pets??!! ~LOL~) supposedly 'can't' turn off the computer by mistake. Hold the button down, keep holding it, and see if it turns off that way! I see Arthur has it figured out anyway (genius cat!) :-)
