Couch Potato Cats

Last night, I was feeling really tired so I went to lie down on the couch with a book. When I first sat down, it was around 8:30 and Beowulf came and slept on my legs for a little while but he quickly got up and went to sit in my desk chair. I kept trying to get Arthur to come site on the ottoman, but he was too busy running around.

I quickly fell asleep and woke up about an hour later to find Arthur lying down next to me. He spent the next few hours shifting positions while I kept nodding off. At one point he came and sat between me and the couch pillows and rested his head on my chest, something I can't remember him doing before. I had the most relaxing evening I've had in a long time, but I got to read only about two pages of my book.

Whenever I try to read a book (lying on my side with book on couch) Webster lies ON the book. Sigh.

When I go to bed at night I have the boys with me one on each side. Pandi leaves as I am dropping off but Punkin stays for the night, he likes to rub his nose on mine to wake me for breakfast. (his)
My female perfers the couch.

The cat tree is still in the same place, just out of the picture. The boys still use it but not as much as they did when we first got it.

Yeah, the fancy expensive cat tree I bought this summer is also not as popular these days, but they still use it. I'm glad I got it! Does Arthur still "worship the lamp"? That's so funny! :)

He worships the lamp still, but only when I'm around. Yesterday I came up with a new theory about his lamp worship. He often looks up at the ceiling and then tries to scale the wall in all different areas of the apartment so maybe it's not the lamp per se.

I still have no idea why he does it. I think he's looking for attention, but even when we give it to him, he still does this.

The photos are lovely! I wish my cats would do that. Ginger and Garlic have this bad habit of licking my face whenever I am asleep, Pepper loves to bite my hair and little Sesame just doesnt sleep long enough before he is awake and making a lot of noise!

It would be cute if they licked like a dog, but they don't do that. When they were kittens, once or twice they tried to groom the hair on my arms, but that was it.

Avram,
If Arthur is "climbing the walls"... I wonder if you have ever seen this?

It's a darling website of some people who have totally turned over their house to the comfort of their cats! I also live in an apt. and I often wish I had a house so I could pamper my kitties this way... but perhaps this website would give you some ideas which might be possible to try, given your location? Just for some more climbing activities, high-up, for your boys? P.S. I have an office chair very much like the one you are proposing to buy, and even my wire-chewer Lucy hasn't touched it! Good luck. Please do consider some climbing gymnasium-type structure.

So adorable... I have a 9-month-old Mau mix who just loves to sleep in my arms. She will crawl up and paw at my chest when I'm sitting at the table, so I'll pick her up and cradle her just like a baby, and in nothing flat she is sound asleep! She would sleep that way for hours if my arms didn't also go to sleep!
