Lap Time is Nap Time

Arthur rarely tries to sit on my lap. He'll lean against me if I'm sitting on the couch, but he rarely will climb into my lap and stay there. The few times Arthur has sat in my lap, he usually leaves after just a few minutes. Today was an exception.

I was sitting cross-legged on the floor giving Arthur a bellyrub and scratching behind his ears when he got up and went to sit in my lap. He curled up in my lap for about an hour and might still be there if I hadn't gotten sore and stood up.

Snow Big Deal to Arthur and Beowulf

In New York, we're experiencing the first serious snow of the season. Arthur and Beowulf saw snow last year, but this is their first blizzard as mature adults and they are fascinated.

This morning, the boys have spent hours sitting in front of the window and watching the snow fall. At times, they seem ready to attack a chunk of snow as it falls from above. At other times, their eyes follow cars or people down the street.

Stretching Like a Cat

Sometimes I'll find myself stretching out on the couch or sleeping in a strange position and I'll think that I must be copying Arthur and Beowulf. Do we start acting like our cats or do they start acting like us?
