The Best Christmas Present Ever

Whew! The vet called this morning to let us know the biopsy came out negative. Arthur will be fine. Liz was so nervous when she saw the vet's number on caller ID this morning, she almost didn't answer.

The good news is that we just have to take him back in a week to have his stitches removed. Meanwhile, he has to wear this silly looking collar to make sure he doesn't try to groom the stitched area.

The collar makes him look like a renaissance king, a court jester, or a patient at the dentist's office. He's a little upset at the indignity of it, but he'll be ok, as long as he doesn't pull it off and his brother doesn't try to groom that area.

We've been keeping a close eye on the boys to try to stop them from wrestling, which they do at least twice a day, but I'm not sure what will happen when I leave them alone for a few hours to attend Christmas dinner at Liz's parents' house. I'd stay here to watch the boys, but Liz would kill me.

Wonderful news! I once had an ulcer on my tongue that my vet thought might be cancer. My humans said it was very scary waiting for the results to come in.

Hi Avram, Liz & Boys!
We haven't visited for quite some time but we were there when you brought them home and watched them grow from tiny little kits. I Can't believe it's been 4 years! You were one of the first cat bloggers we met. It's been fun catching up reading your latest posts!
We too, are glad they are in the bedroom at last! They love to be on the bed since it smells like their beloved people and it's comforting.
Great news that Arthur will be ok!!!

Congratulations to you and Arthur. I lost a beloved cat to cancer a while back, and I know how important it is to take lumps seriously.

Bonjour, Hi,

Good for Arthur!
May I ask where you bought the collar ? It is so much better then the one that my cats have to wear when they have stitches.

The collar was provided by the vet (for a price of course) in the hopes that it would work better for him than the hard cone type (which it did)

Love the photograph. How can some people say that cats don't have a sense of dignity? Cats have a profound sense of dignity.

I'm so happy you had good news about your kitty!!!
We had a similar thing happen with our dog a few weeks ago when a lump suddenly appeared. The waiting for test results (almost a week!) was so stressful and luckily the results came back clear, as yours did!!
I love checking out your blog, continued good health to you and your kitties!
